Overview

The Professional Diploma in Hotel Management Programme provides students with comprehensive theory and practical knowledge of functioning of all the departments in Star Hotels. The Programme covers topics on Food Production, Bakery & Confectionary, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage service and Front office Management.

In addition students will be taught to develop a strong Communication in English and Hotel French and other allied subjects like Hotel Engineering Maintenance, Facility Planning, Travel and Tourism, Principles of Management, Hotel Accountancy, Hotel Law and Entrepreneurship to manage and practice entrepreneurship skills. They will be equipped to work in a professional 5 Star Hotel environment. They will also understand the importance of professional ethics, grooming, attitude and responsibilities. Norms of Hotel management and legal requirements will be taught for the students to be dignified professionals.

Hotel Industry is a part of the tourism industry which is world’s largest and fastest growing industry, accounting 9.8% of “World Tourism GDP”. It generates lots of foreign exchange earnings and employment opportunities around the world in the hospitality sector. Malaysia is in 15th place in Foreign Tourist Arrivals.

  • The minimum qualification for admission is 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject
  • The Maximum Age limit is 25 years for candidates as on 1st July, 2014.
  • The student should be medically fit; the same should be certified by Registered medical officer
